The spark that ignited our mission
Our journey began with a profound sense of urgency, witnessing homeless children sleeping rough and scavenging for food in rubbish bins across the UK. It was heartbreaking to see young ones, particularly during winter, susceptible to chronic respiratory infections due to inadequate clothing. Many are unaccompanied, living in fear of deportation, and hesitant to seek help. This moved us deeply. Simultaneously, we encountered brilliant students from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, tirelessly working cleaning jobs to fund their STEM education. Their dreams and ambitions were palpable, yet perpetually overshadowed by financial struggles. These experiences ignited our resolve to make a tangible difference.
How we make a difference
Reuven Charity Foundation employs a clear, impactful strategy to empower young lives. For homeless children, our dedicated volunteers collaborate with local police to identify those in need, guiding them to safe shelters where they receive accommodation, nutritious meals, and clothing. We then work with relevant agencies to secure proper homes and educational placements. For disadvantaged students, we partner with schools in low-income areas to identify high-potential individuals aspiring to STEM university degrees. We provide full tuition fees and living expenses, allowing them to focus entirely on their studies. Additionally, we actively liaise with STEM industries to secure valuable apprenticeship opportunities, ensuring students can earn while they learn and gain crucial experience.
